Grafting isn't always easy - To big for whip and tongue to small for cleft grafting, not a candidate for rind

I was speaking of this method, it could have a proper name?
It works well for bigger rootstock, I have grafted 6ft up a sapling where it was 1/2" to 2" thick, or down low as in these pictures:

Then I wrap the union tight and thick except for the buds…
