Somewhere on them there is a clip of him spraying with a big tank sprayer pulled by a tractor. I believe he sprayed every ten days and it took six days to cover the entire orchard.

SW Colorado has been in severe drought for several years. A friend of mine owns a retirement orchard near Penrose and it’s a losing battle.
Yes it is dry country, I believe that orchard is still there , mom stopped there ten years or so ago and bought some cider. It was probably irrigated with snow melt water from the reservoirs on grand mesa if I were guessing. I don’t know the exact location of the orchard, somewhere between Delta and grand mesa. It was my great grandfathers originally. My mother has a letter my great grandfather wrote to my grandad when grandad was young and had moved to California. Great grandfather was talking about the price he got for apples that fall.
