These caught my eye at the store. Bag says Apple that taste like a grape. Apparently they take gala and Fuji and soak them in a water bath with grape flavoring. I didn’t buy any.
Yuck! 
I’ll leave it up to someone else to try those.

They’ve been around for a decade or so.
bad stuff, I second the yuck! also heard that the stuff they soak the apples in is used in orchards as a repellent or some such and has a MSDS.

I can’t think of any chemical that doesn’t, including salt and water.
Yup, asked a drinking water supplier a couple of years ago if he had a msds for water and he surprised me with it. So much for being a smart a**.
An apple grower in NC was talking about an apple with a grape flavor, I think it was Virginia Beauty but can’t remember.
There is a pretty hilarious part in the book “The fruit hunters” about the grapple.
