I used 3 parts peat moss
3 parts pine fines
1 parts mini pine nuggets
1 part perlite
Few Tbls. AG Lime
Don’ know if perlite or pine nuggets is that important but had them from making fig pot mix. Greens were fast growing varieties and planted 16 days ago. Fertilizer used initially was urine, fish and Mircale Gro. Now just Miracle Gro.
Fastest growing greens are mustard and radish if you need some greens when SHTFF. Romaine lettuce is in there but got overgrown by the other greens. Too slow growing to keep up. I shut down my garden of weeds and bugs years ago. I am 99.8% trees. But I still experimented on the deck with a little garden. Glad I didn’t give up altogether. There is still hope! And I am not tied down to buying $$ potting mixes.

If frost hits and you just started greens, you can cover with lid.
