Would you attempt to grow these red potatoes in your garden or toss them into the garbage?

Grow them , but not in the garden. Would plant them somewhere else around the place. Never know what comes in with a sack of potatoes. Grown potatoes like that plenty of times.

i have never grown potatoes, but my wife will readily vouch that scallion tips have a habit of showing up in her flower beds…

Looks like nicely chitted potatoes ready to plant. Pontiac red, I’m guessing. You’d get nothing better for $10 at the feed store. I constantly remind myself that not everything is worth saving and just because something is possible doesn’t make it worthwhile. But at least stick them in the compost rather than the trash.

As long as the potato isn’t putrid, there’s no reason to throw it away.
A lazy way to plant could be just throwing the potatoes into a few bags of garden soil and then just piling straw on top as the potatoes plant grows.
