Growing grapes from seed

The term “foxy” is often used in a derogatory context implying the grapes smell like a fox. However, it really is based on the fruity aroma which attracts small mammals, including foxes. These strong fruit flavors are great in table grapes, but most people don’t care for them in dry wines, so they are usually only used for sweet dessert type wines.

thats a clue i hadn’t noticed. Im assuming you may be borderline for heat units to ripen Concord. They do well here, but dont ripen in many cooler New england locations. They ripen early-mid October here. ‘Campbells Early’ is a possibility-

an interesting aside. I find the “faux” derivation most compelling, but there are any number of competing theories as to where and how this term originated. A History of Wine in America
