Growing in a pile of rocks

I excavated a nice side pile of rocks planting my first trees and it looks like I will be adding a lot more this year. Does anyone have any idea of plants that grow in piles of rocks. The one I plan to grow are capers Capparis spinosa

Figs and brambles.

Blackberries go berserk with the reflected heat. Figs like it too-- assuming they are established in some adequate soil underneath or among the rock pile.

Another alternative might be to arrange the stones in a ring if they are of a convenient size and quantity and create a new raised bed in it.

I worry about snakes in a rock pile. Other than that, most anything that doesn’t require regular cultivation can do fairly well in a rockery. Rock gardens are pretty popular for flowers. Make nice homes for fruits such as jujube and goji, And some brambles as already mentioned.

I’m bringing this topic back to life…cause I’d like to see pictures of your rock garden or productive rock piles.
