Back in the day when I grew vegetables and strawberries for the market, I grew my strawberry plants in wide beds like my veggies, 2 or 3 plants across. Now that I grow more fruit than vegetables, I grow strawberry plants more like mini shrubs.
These are 18 inches apart in the bed, with the rows close to 4 feet apart. I know not everybody has the space for this, but I like the open layout and my neighbor can harvest from her garden scooter.
