Here is a reference list of some of the hardy to half-hardy edible Passiflora hybrids and their pedigrees. Generally, I’m only including plants hardy to zone 8 or thereabouts, and only including cultivars that have incarnata, edulis, cincinnata, tucumanensis, or other edible and palatable Passiflora in their pedigree. I’ve made a few exceptions which will be bolded.
Incense
P. cincinnata x P. incarnata . Robert Knight’s hybrid. Zone 7. Suckers readily, vigorous. May have poor fruit set and is not especially floriferous. Older variety that remains very popular and commonly available.
Inspiration
Tetraploid seedling of P. Incense (P. cincinnata x P. incarnata). Zone 7. Less vigorous than Incense, but more floriferous, with larger flowers and better fruit set. Some suckering.
Blue Velvet
P. cincinnata x P. incarnata. Zone 7. A remake of Incense that is very similar but with larger and darker flowers, tends to bloom more than Incense as well. Vigorous and suckering.
Blue Eyed Susan
Tetraploid of (P. incarnata x P. edulis ) x (P. incarnata x P. cincinnata) from Roland Fischer and Carolee Anita Boyles. Zone 9. Very showy flowers are purple/blue, large, and fragrant.
Fata Confetto
P. ‘Guglielmo Betto’ (P. incarnata x P. tucumanensis) x P. cincinnata . From Maurizio Vecchia. Zone 8b. Minimal suckering.
Blue Bouquet
[(P. amethystina x P. caerulea ) x (P. amethystina x P. caerulea )] x P. caerulea. Zone 8. Not palatable. Ornamental variety.
Supernova
Tetraploid of a white *P. incarnata *. From Ethan Nielsen. Zone 6. Not fruitful. White flowers, sometimes with a little pink in the center.
Grand Tiara
P. incarnata x P. edulis ‘Frederick’. From Ethan Nielson. Zone 8. Not fruitful, pollen sterile.
Ugly Betty
Tetraploid of P. edulis x P. incarnata. From Ethan Nielson. Zone 8. Whitish flowers. Fruitful and fertile.
