Have you used Mycorrhizal Fungi for potted figs? How did it work out for you?

I saw some at Walmart. I looked at the bag. Reminded me of yogurt with all the bacteria listed. Although the Mycorrhizal Fungi bag had a lot more listings than yogurt.

Im not the biggest fan of these products. There has been back and forth for years at how effective the dried products are.
Mycelium is crucial though.
This is a chunk of my soil with wine cap mycelium running through it. The mycelium is around 4-6" deep into the soil. Pic taken yesterday.

If you want to introduce the “yogurt” bacteria into your soil make your own LABS (Lactobacillus Serum)
Its the first step in cheese making. 1 part fermented rice wash water to 9 parts milk. Strain liquid from cheese and cut 1/1000. Cheap, easy, effective.

The dried products wont hurt but i dont know how good they really are.

I think I’m failing to see the connection you’re making between Lactobacillus bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi.

These fungi are now often added to potting mixes because it is a rare case where they have been proven to be beneficial, although probably not more so than adding a handful of dirt that tree roots were exploiting. These fungi reproduce rapidly without much help from humans.

Im not trying to make a connection though. Im just saying the dried myco product isnt the best and how to make some of the same things at home/buy elsewhere cheaper.

I tried the granular stuff from the garden centre a couple of years back when repotting some figs. Honestly couldn’t tell if it made any difference, the trees grew about the same as the ones I didn’t treat. The soil biology argument makes sense in theory but I think with potted plants you’re repotting often enough that you’re disrupting whatever network gets established anyway.
