Healthy Apple Scions

I am starting to cut apple scions for Spring grafting. I noticed these scions have black sooty areas. Is this a fungal disease? Are the blackened ones still viable to produce a healthy whip in the Spring.

If the black tainted ones have a fungus and are stored in a bag in the refrigerator, will this harm the other untainted scions?

So, in other words, will be the blackened ones be fine or will they cause a problem?

Thanks!

There’s sooty blotch on apples and I wonder if it is something similar.

i think i saw something similar after i had some aphids on a shoot.
But that’s more a wild guess than anything conclusive.
