My IE can grow to 15+ā and continue. It comes to a point that it is too tall for me to prune even stand on a ladder. It is not easy to spray, or pick any mulberries. So this is what I did this Easter Sunday. I think it is better way than prune the branches. The mulberris should be easier to pick this summer.
I just used grocery bag with few stones inside to weight down the branches.
Yes, they like to grow up right, 4-5ā a season. The more I prune the more branches it grows back. I am really tied of standing on a tall ladder and prune it every year. By weight down the bigger branches, it is easier and low to reach the new grow branches. I just need to remember to weight them down later summer/early fall.
