We have a hellebore that was in full bloom, broken off at the crown by multiple days of wind. Completely detached. Is it a goner?
I’m not sure if these are like daffodils and such that if the foliage is broken off too early, they won’t bloom properly the next year.
It may not bloom next year, but it might sprout back this year
If recently planted, then your guess is as good as mine. If it’s been growing a year or two in the ground, it will likely sprout back out from the crown. (And most produce seeds that will grow baby ones under the old plant, but some hybrids are sterile.)
My hellebores have done great this winter.
