Large seckle ripens early not like worden which ripens later than the first part of August and bears in clusters. I need to research worden further to make sure what im saying is correct in my climate. My worden got hit with fireblight. Here is what i know about worden it os a dead ringer for this pear but ripens i think.a full month or more later Worden seckel pear .This may be one of the rarest pears i grow. Thanks @39thparallel this is a very high quality pear making it in the top 2 or 3 best tasting pears i grow. What a surprise and a hidden gem! Mike has many good qualities and not bragging is one of them. This time for this pear i wished he would have. It took 2 years to produce on ohxf333 in very poor soil. I was semi impressed with the fruit the last 6 years. I was not impressed enough to post about it. Ohxf333 always does this to me. The fruit from this rootstock taste lousy in my soil until the tree is mature. The tree is now mature and the fruits are truly excellent.
