Heyer apple did not flower

Hello friends, I have a 14 year old semi dwarf Heyer apple. It has flowered profusely and fruited well for the past 10 or 11 years. It looks perfectly healthy, but this year it did not produce one single flower. All I can think of is that it is getting too old to fruit?? Do apple trees just stop producing at some point??

That usually means it is in a biennial pattern. It is very common that apples fruit one year and not the next. It may have had an extra heavy load last year or some additional stress. If it continues to bear every other year you can try to get it out of the pattern by picking off most of the flowers in one of the β€œon” years.
