Honeyberry bush issue - any tips? Browning

We recently purchased some honeyberry bushes for the first time; we have two “Mrs”, and two “Mr” (they provided info that recommended one of each to pollinate).

We noticed that [at least one of] the “Mrs” are turning brown from the bottom up (see photos; top leaves still green), and we’re not sure what’s causing it; over/under-watering? Does anybody know what might be wrong? Any recommendations moving forward?

We haven’t gotten the chance to transplant them to a garden bed yet, the plastic pots they came in have some mulch on the top layer of soil.

We would appreciate any advice anyone could provide; if there’s something we can do to help it (or not make it worse), we would like to do it. Couldn’t find this specific issue online.

Probably a watering issue, will probably be significantly happier once planted and mulched.
