How is your weather? (Part 2)

11 degrees this morning. Lake Superior is protecting us from the coldest extremes many of you further south are experiencing. It should last most of this month, while the lake still holds lots of latent heat. Supposed to get down to only -5 one night in the next few days. February is when the cold will catch up and we will bottom out. Then Superior will start the very slow warm up. I wonder if it will grace us with a large snowstorm in early May, as it did last year?

Rain 10 days from now. Would be interesting on top of a very cold snow pack. Looks like next weekend should signal a good warmup.

No temps above freezing in the 10 day at home, and no rain either. The drought looks to continue

Same day, an hour and a half apart, snow squall to sunny. And who knows what the weather might be an hour and a half from now.
Temperature hasn’t changed much, remaining in the low 20s(F). Variable winds all day.

Can’t possibly be today’s weather…might have been Saturdays.

Snow has been staying south. Good snow cover in the yard here.

High of 51F today! No wonder I have bud swell.

Blustery here. 37 actual right now, wind chill 29F. Sustained winds 6-8. Gusts as high as 25 mph. Single digits coming.

We’ve had some intermittent pleasant days but fortunately not sustained in the 70s like a previous January. Maybe this year bud break will be closer to normal. . That would be a relief.

13°F high today, subzero windchill, but nice and sunny so it doesn’t feel that miserable. We had our first decent snow and the dogs were very excited to frolic around in it. Our garage is holding the figs and a few young potted trees. I’m pretty sure I saw bud swell on some of my trees over the last month so this cold is bad news, but I’m pretending I didn’t since there’s nothing to be done.

Made it to 20, but Accuwether says it’s 22 here.

Expecting 13 tonight…20 tomorrow…then dropping some more continued through next Sunday

Might get enough snow tonight to make the ground white…not any more than that expected.

Hold on folks, just around the corner, the heat is on.

What, 8-14 days for a warmup? That’s wimpy.

We went from 22 at 8 am this morning to 45 at 9am.

We’re right on the western edge of the cold air. It sloshes one way or the other and that’s what happens.

Got about a half-inch of snow last night. 5F feels like -8F at 6:30 this morning.
Brrr. Not predicted to go above 32F for a daily high for the next week.
So glad I no longer have to feed cows…

Third morning like this, I think I was justified in entirely burying the peach and nectarine in snow

That’s a good plan for now. Just be aware that as the snow melts it will settle and can rip the tree apart.

Good point. I was thinking I’ll knock the snow down below the branches once we’re back to lows above zero

At least 3" here. Some to south and east obviously got more. Only got down to 13F here this morning.

One more inch expected, but it’s very fine and dusty now.
A light broom totally removed snow from front of truck.

16F at daylight… 17F at 11AM…

Cold and snowy here in TN.

Y’all probably got more than anybody, how much so far?

We had flurries yesterday morning and maybe an inch overnight, but the sun is peeking thru the clouds. Up to 21 now at noon. Snow is very dry, had it cover my solar panels, but that was easily removed by a broom.

Still snowing here… about 4 inches so far.
