Making a run at 60F today. Could be close. I think that is a record.

I heard on the cattle report this morning that it was -25 in SoDak last week, and in the 60s this week.

Those areas around Rapid City were all in the low 60Fs yesterday. I figured that air would be in here today. No snow, no clouds and light winds. Already 54F at just after noon.

What a strange winter.

Up to the 50s here this week. Hope it doesn’t get carried away.

Foggy in the upper 40s

The fog moves around and you can occasionally see the cottonwoods in the distance peek out.

60s/70s with lows in the 50s this week. Mulberries seem to be waking up, hope everything doesn’t wake up too fast as I’m sure they’ve got plenty of chill.

We had 3 days of snow, felt like we weren’t doing anything but clearing snow off the back deck, roof and driveways. I was able to get out yesterday and decided to break some trails with the snowmobile so we could cross country ski. We had so much snow, on top of prior “so much snow” the snowmobile was having a hard time getting around the trails. I was making a last pass and got buried trying to make a turn onto a path I had just opened, I was only 4’ from it! I tried digging out by hand, couldn’t get the track to lift out of the snow, gave up and walked about a 1/2 mile home. I was drenched in sweat by the time I got home. Recovered faster than I thought I would and headed back out with snowshoes and a snow shovel and got the sled out. I’m too old for this crap! At this rate I don’t know when I’ll be able to get in the orchard for winter pruning.

i hear you. my sons a few miles from me so when I’m in a pinch i call him to give a hand. no problems getting stuck here. still only about 5in. ice on the lakes are sitting at 2ft. most we’ve had in 3 winters. people still driving the woods roads with pick ups. brought the wife for a ride in the woods. saw all kinds of different animal tracks as well as seeing some moose, hares and grouse. my trapping buddy’s ecstatic. he can drive the trap line with his heated jeep instead of freezing on the sled.

Reminds me of the time I fell into a snowbank while x/c skiing - up to my head. Hard time digging out.

Less than two weeks ago high was like 19° and 8 inches of snow and today 60° beautiful light wind. That’s the most snow we have had in my lifetime and it stayed on the ground several days. You guys up north can keep that much snow once in a lifetime is enough for me. We just can’t handle it. Rain, tornados hurricanes all part of living in the south.

ill keep the snow. you keep the hurricanes/ tornados. deep snow sucks shoveling but at least it doesn’t blow your house into the next county.

80s and full sun starting tomorrow for at least a week. Today was the last reprive from our brutal springs. I haven’t been home all week, but I imagine everything is either fried or growing. Hopefully its the latter.

Yeah two days in the high 60s/low70s tonight a low of 37 but great looking weather on the horizon. Hopefully I don’t get screwed with a “late” frost. As it won’t be late but I’m sure we have hit enough chill that 60s will wake things up. The lows are all above 45 beyond tonight.

Got 1 1/2 inches of welcome rain. Keep thinking how much snow that would have been if just a tad bit colder.
