How long to wait for young plums trees to produce?

I planted a small orchard of European plums in spring of 2017. At the same time, I also planted some Americans/hybrids.

In spring of 2019, all of my Americans/hybrids bloomed, and some even produced fruit (Go Black Ice!) but none of my Europeans produced a single flower. Is it normal for European plums to take longer to come into flower, or are my buds simply killed by cold each year up here in Zone 5A?

Yes, Euros take a lot longer. It varies how much but 2x, 3x, even 4x longer than Asian/hybrid plums is not unheard of.
