How many lbs. of sweet corn seed per acre?

Can anyone tell me about how many pounds of sh2 sweet corn seed do I need per acre?

Depends on your plant density plan. Generally, about 20,000 plants per acre is as much as it can support. In arid regions, cut that down to about 15,000 unless irrigated. Varieties with sh2 tend to have lighter weight kernels and run in the range of 3000 to 5000 seed per pound. You might purchase 4 or 5 pounds to completely plant an acre. Caution that a highly accurate planter should be used to evenly distribute the seed. Also, fewer plants per acre translates to larger individual ears of corn.

We have a fool proof, high tech corn planting system here. Papa walks the row poking holes with a walking stick. Then these things called gran-daughters puts a seed in the hole; the other covers it.
