Sorry what is WAA? Thanks!
Sorry! Woolly apple aphids
Oh, yes this year i got them on Jaboticaba trees. I dont see them making major harm but i water them more strongly and ants that transport them. They will go away in some time.
Great to know, thank you!
Big Red and little Scarlet are growing so well! Maybe a blessing in disguise that squirrel murdered little red. Scarlet really is a fast grower relative to the Red (which is all I have to compare it to). Both have put on a lot of new growth, but Scarlet has 1’ shoots from this season. Given the amazing growth, I decided to get a little bold with pruning to clear out the bottoms. A little turned into a little more, but i still don’t think this counted as a hard prune. And, I still think I need to take more, but I’ll wait until this winter and next year.
Despite the drought year, they have been staying moist in their part shade spots. Weekly when I water the blueberries with ammonium sulfate/citric acid, I water them if they are getting dry. I just add citric acid to bring down the pH. Maybe the dregs of the ammonium sulfate in the watering can are helping.
“Big” Red opened up a little
What I took off:
Yellow are the 2 other minor trunks I think I should remove at the next pruning. There’s also a mess of cross branches up top, but not touching that this year.
Scarlet
What I removed
For as great as scarlets growth is. I don’t see any roots near the drainage holes.
