My guess is either too much rain, you are overwatering your trees, or watering when it’s too hot.
The mystery is the practically perfect round cracking around the top
80-90% of my Arctic Glo crop this year cracked exactly the same way! I think it’s too much spring rain. I have ~20 varieties of nectarines and 5 peaches, Arctic Glo is the only one that behaved that way. Arctic Rose had perhaps a dozen cracked fruits, but nothing as severe as this.
This seems unusual for green fruit to crack. My Empress plum will crack some once it ripens but have not seen green fruit cracking so badly. My plum cracks when a heavy rain week occurs just as they ripen, also causes a lot of mold on ripe fruit. The only catalyst I can think of is perhaps over watering or over fertilizing? Have you treated this tree significantly differently than the other nectarines?

No, actually, this year has been dryer than usual. A “burn restriction” was ordered in mid May.
That is not to say that a particularly heavy rainfall at a particularly bad time may not be the cause, but no other stone fruit has shown this.
