I have a fare number of wild persimmon and Black gum trees on my property; only trouble is I’m having difficulty telling them apart when they are young.
Generally the black gums tend to have a little more of a tear drop shaped leaf than the persimmons, but that does not always hold true.
So can anyone out there help me ID young trees successfully so I don’t waste time and scion wood on the wrong root stock please?
thanks
Larry
