Identify this plum

My guess it is dapple dandy too. I have never had it fruit before so I was not sure. Compared pictures on internet, they are all over the place. Your confirmation really helps. Thanks a lot

Ron, do you have picture of ripe dapple dandy? I am not sure I can tell it is ripe or not. A picture will be help. Also, does it go soft or stay firm when ripen?

The squirrels stripped the tree just as they ripened. The madning thing is they were only after the seeds.
They will soften up a bit but stay much firmer than a plum. You will notice the skin will seem thinner or you will notice it isn’t bonded as tightly to the flesh. Sorry, I don’t have any pictures to show you. They stay rather ugly because the red doesn’t take over the green. Both colors are present and make a sort of brown where they overlap. I know that wasn’t much help.
