I enjoy eating all Stone Fruits. I pitched the seeds in my compost pile. Throughout the spring Ive transplanted sprouts indoors. I had set up to grow Paw Paws trying to propagate a Tree My Kids played under for years. Ive noticed slight differences in the seedlings. If you have any hints, feel free to chim in.
Thats hard for anyone to guese. But I am going to go with Peach. Peach and Native American plum Prunus angustifolia are the ones with typically long leaves.
A looks like a plum. B peach or nectarine.
nectarines are peaches with a recessive gene. There is no difference in the nature of the tree. I think your looking at 3 peaches.
They could all be peach/nectarine. Peaches don’t have rounded leaves. A appears rounded but it may be too early to tell.
The way to tell a peach from a plum at this stage is to dig down around the the base of the tree to find the seed. It should be close to the surface. It’s easy to tell a peach seed from a plum seed.
Couple of these are the same. I didnt snap pics of all of them, but did capture these. I have Horticulture experience but really none with fruit trees, outside watching my grandad prune a very small amount.
My Dad thinks A =Apricot ( & the Darker seed) pictured
All others are Freestone/ Clingstone Varieties… of Peaches. … Clingstone =C Freestone=B
No, it’s not.
Almond and peach.
That’s not the seed part I was referring to. Peach seeds, we’ve all seen them right, are not smooth on the outer surface. Plum and apricot on the other hand have a more or less smooth surface by comparison.
The Trees are in Buckets now that they’ve all Grown some. Most people thought they were all peaches at first maybe thats the case. The rounded leaves are only 2 leaves the rest are somewhat pointed. Starting to think I somehow managed 4-5 kinds of Peaches. Currently Down to 13 Trees ( 8 Paw Paws & 5 Peach) The Paw Paw came from my yard. My kids whom are mostly grown played under it. Now that the small home is only an office Im planning on Moving the Paw Paws (unknown variety) to an Orchard on our Farm. The 5 peaches(stone fruit) were an unplanned bonus. I think it was just a sign God wanted me to plant peach trees(Stone Fruit) in the orchard, lol… 13 Trees. Now where to put these. And where can we find Blueberries lol…
