Today, it’s become clear that I’m getting a billion cots this year! Praise the Lord! Last year I only got 10! The lowest temperature we got to was around 30 once the blossoms came out. As I mentioned earlier, minus basically Zard, they sure didn’t last long, but the beginning of the month before the cold snap came, we were in the lows 70s and the bees were going crazy! Man, I’m looking forward to these and trying some new varieties for the first time!

Need to thin mercilessly even if it breaks your heart.

I have removed over 50% of my peaches. They are now about three inches apart. Since I have never grown this variety before and I read that it is medium sized I will leave the rest on for a while. The branches are young and thin and cannot hold heavy fruiting. It will thin again if necessary.
