Impatient

Sometimes (most of the time) I’m impatient for my fruit trees to fruit so I good way to try them is to make tea with them! Just look the plant up and if the leaves are edible then eat a leaf and see if you want it in a tea. I love cocoa, citrus and annonas mixed in a tea. And peanut butter fruit leaves raw. I just tried a star cherry leaf today and it tastes like pumpkin. You should try it on your fruits if your impatient or just if your curious.

Like Pawpaw and Cherimoya leaves?Be careful with those. The concentration of bad stuff is in them.

Can relate lol. Heck I’m impatient waiting for the season to get here, much less waiting on things to grow in.:joy:
Haven’t tried the teas though. Not a bad idea though. Especially the citrus, lemon leaves certainly have a “lemony” smell.

I’m doing more tropical stuff like soursop or sugar apple

Annonas, especially soursop, and especially the leaves have neurotoxic compounds in them and populations where soursop tea is drank they have significantly higher rates of Parkinson’s. Be careful

Oh I did not know that thanks I guess now it will just be cocoa and citrus.

If you enjoy herbal tea, try growing the sweetleaf raspberry (Rubus suavissimus).

It contains compounds that taste hundreds of times sweeter than table sugar.

The Chinese make sweet tea from the leaves.

It looks like cannabis too…

Do you grow it from seed I can’t find plants online anywhere

Jack, I don’t know, sorry.

I only know it is available in Europa, the Swiss grow it and it is sometimes also available in the UK.

Lemon beebrush/lemon verbena is incredible as tea. Grows as a bush and smells like candy

Yeah I would be very careful making tea from plant leaves. Many of them are pretty toxic and it may not be in an acute manner. Starfruit itself shouldn’t be eaten in large quantities so I can only imagine the leaves wouldn’t be great for you also.
