In House - grow room or window

This spring I am clearing some land prepping for a new home build…

In this new home will have a full basement and on the south “sunny” side will be able to have a large window area (in the basement level) which will be ideal for possibly a grow room, grow window, grow something… I am looking for ideas here… I would love to have a spot in my basement where I could really grow stuff, even thru the winter, use for propagation, sort of like a green house… but built right in to my basement.

I can see that with a large window in that area, there would be plenty of sunlight coming in… which I could perhaps supplement with grow lights if needed.

Do any of you have something like a green house built right into your home or basement ?
Perhaps something like a Large Bay Window area would do (windows on 3 sides of the bay)… I would love to be able to grow enough greens to keep us in salads all winter, propagate figs, mulberries, blackberries, etc…

I am drawing up the house plans myself (did our current home too, and acted as general contractor)… so I can work something in here. I don’t want to go overboard on cost here, but would not mind spending some bucks on a nice place to grow stuff built right into my own basement.

I bet some of you have such a place. Would love to see any examples (pictures) or hear recommendations, links to examples, etc…

Thanks

Like anybody buying a greenhouse, usely too small. Same with a growroom. My growroom/ workshop is ttoooo small for what I like to grow, can only put so much in there.
If it’s part of the house rooms, you can’t have a return register to your whole house heating system, it’s illegal . Exhaust fumes, if you use as a garage to store a automobile.

But it is nice to do prepping during winter for the next season.

I use half my kitchen (with sliding door facing south) for my plants and its too small. If i was building new i’d have a lot of south facing glass.

Speaking of windows. Order early … i ordered some new windows in November and i still haven’t heard a peep of when i’ll get them. Also the price of lumber is insane again.

@warmwxrules … we are going to clear and prep land for new home build… this spring.

When we start building… there is no rush on that. We are perfectly happy in our current home… it is just quite large 3800 sf… and we are entering the empty nester stage…

Planning to down size some with the new build to something more manageable. and sell the big house for a nice profit.

It is all paid for… no debt since 2016.

I am thinking that a large bay window area on that south facing basement wall… may be all I need.

We are going to have a sun room on the first floor too.
