I want some diatomaceous earth to feed the ants… Is the human food grade stuff as unhelpful to them as the pest control version?
Food grade kills bugs.
It is great for treating grain for long term storage. And for sprinkling on plants to kill small bugs.
I only use Permaguard Food Grade. 50lb sack for like $20. So i can not compare…
Just be aware there is a dangerous pool type that can be fatal to breathe, basically the algae fossils at that mine site got heated by volcano and the fossils opened and became way more poky to scratch your lungs…, in pure form it is still non-toxic, but is not food grade because of the danger of breathing its dust.

In my experience they are interchangeable. That being said, I haven’t brushed my teeth with the industrial stuff😜

It’s simply razor sharp Aragonite crystals.

The difference is probably in impurities, same as every other mined mineral product. Human food grade passes a more stringent testing program than something marketed as a garden product.
