Is this OFM damage on the tips of my peach trees ? (See pictures in reply)
If yes, What treatment do you recommend ?
Should I remove the burnt ends ?
I read the statement below in a previous thread. Do I mix all four of these or is it saying that all four are good to use ? (I just learned that Bonide Fruit Tree Spray can damage foliage, so i’ll be buying something new. So i’m open to suggestions)
Peach shoot tip spraying with spinosad/Surround/Tri-Tek oil/Bt is highly effective at eliminating tip damage."
It looks like you want to follow Low Impact spray by @scottfsmith.
Yes remove the flagging shoots. When you cut those shoots, look to see how far in the shoots, the larva tunneled in. Remove shoots until you see no tunnels on the piece you cut off.
If you don’t have Surround or Tri Tek readily on hand, you can just spray with Spinosad or BT (easier to find in store). Surround and Tri Tek need to be ordered online.
Where are you in zone 6a? You should put your state in your profile. Location is helpful to know because different location may post different pest challenges. Damage from Peach twig borers and OFM look the same. Fortunately, the same treatments is used for both pests.
I have something similar on my peach tree. I had more defective foliage before I cut it back about 1/3 each scaffold. I did not see any tunnels so I concluded it was peach leaf curl. About 5 small shoots died back below where I pruned. In the first pic several leaves are deformed like a blister. What am I dealing with? Should I cut back below those dead shoots in second pic?
Most newer foliage at top are normal
