Did you scrape the bark where it looks green, or has a critter been nibbling on it? Green indicates the chlorophyll is still flowing. Maybe it’s too cold to sprout out some buds yet.

I scraped it. I had to go that deep to see green. Otherwise it was brown or black. Was not sure how deep I had to go for the scratch test.
