My Yates persimmon is alive! This is one of 4 persimmons I have. The other three died to the ground last winter and came back from the rootstock last summer. Pretty sure those 3 are dead and I thought this one was too. This tree is 3-4 years old, 7 feet tall, with a trunk caliper of just over 1 inch. What can I do to help keep these trees alive long enough to get to bearing fruit? They are well mulched, in full sun and at the top, not the bottom of a hill. Should I try a different location for the trees I want to replace? Zone 5b Midcoast Maine. Thanks in advance.
