Yes. Maybe when you bought them they were the ones bred by U of MD… by Harry Jan Swartz…but today this is what they sell.

Originating in Europe, specifically in Denmark, the Josephine Raspberry has made its mark as a delectable and sought-after raspberry variety. Named after Princess Josephine of Denmark, this raspberry was developed through careful breeding and selection to provide gardeners with a raspberry plant known for its exceptional flavor and elegance.

I have a guy in WA state that may or may not have the true to name ones available for trade… he states that they fruit so late for him that they arent worth it…but he did say that they were unusually sweet. He got his from Pense years ago.

The hand picked nursery pictures look right, maybe they have the wrong description. The drupes on Josephine are very large, like in their picture.

The pic from their Amazon listing?

If so Hand Picked nursery uses that picture for all of their raspberries…

That seems to be a picture of Octavia…which was stolen from nurseries in Europe. Also on various European websites dating back to 2010.

So wrong description and also stolen images to list all of their red rasps… on top of that the berries by invention are to be round…not conical.

I have lots and lots of not true to name cultivars and have learned to do my homework… as it takes years to figure it out in person sometimes.

This is Drews pic from 2017 in comparison to Anne.
