Yeast was a big part of our diet throughout history. Fermenting , culturing, or brewing has been widely practiced a long time. Yogurt takes a starter like cheese , and vinegar or kombucha take a mother. Sauerkraut and other dishes and drinks all require fermentation. Definately worth knowing every bit of what your doing because in hard times knowledge can be the difference between life and death .
