Kakis surprised present from UC Davis

A couple years ago I got on UC DAVIS USDA site and ordered some Kakis scions for trial and just have to pay for shipping. They emailed me that it was too late to obtain scions. I forgot about it. I opened my front door to let the dog out and saw this UPS Box with the scions free of charge. I guess after paying $40,000 Of taxes a year for the last 15 yrs is a little bonus. Lol.

Congrats! The response can be pretty flakey. I tried to get a kiwi from them for two years and finally gave up and found it elsewhere. Other orders show up right on time, last spring I got some peaches which came right about now.

I think I only ever got an order from them once. Geneva and Corvallis are a lot friendlier. I even got some material from Hilo, Hawaii.
