Would it be possible to ask you for scions?
did you ask for Scions from me?
I can get a few HORT16A scions and send them,
Where are you located ?
How many scion sticks do you need?
Thank you
Dov
I too would love HORT16A scions if I could.
That would be awesome! I will pay you the shipping costs and preparation of the material. I’m located in Spain. I think about 5-10 sticks of different diameters are enough. I don’t know if you have more varieties of yellow kiwi. I already have Jinfeng (first year in production) and Jintao (no production yet), but I am looking for hort16a, Soreli and others that could be good candidates for grafting. Thanks a lot
I have Purpurna Sadowa here is the states and if there are breeding programs, I have scionwood. Update: All scion wood has been distributed. DM me to be put on the 2026 list.
My hardy male may be slightly later here, but I have some frozen from last year. Is this Issai?
Here I am, just havinge tasted a red flesh kiwi I got from costco…
Then I come across this topic. Count me interested!
Took my first hardy kiwi cuttings last fall and it seems 3 are pulling through, but I don’t know the sex! (Cause they got mixed up.)
Prolific, Geneva (definitely no Issai) not sure if I have others. As they have died I’ve replaced with survivors.
My aunt asked if I wanted a kiwi vine today, so I went and got it… she made it sound small… big fuzzy type, don’t know variety. Approx 20yrs old.
It’s not a fuzzy, but a hardy kiwi. That’s really small for 20 years old. Was it in a pot? Most kiwi are capable of covering that entire fence in a couple of years. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but it may be an arctic kiwi, A. kolomikta, which do tend to stay relatively small.
Okay, I am glad you could clear that up for me because my aunt confused me a bit with which kiwi was what! This kiwi was not in a pot but definetly not getting enough sun and the dirt it was dug from looked like a lot of clay mixed in.
She also gave me a cutting, and that for sure is big fuzzy kiwi. Forgot to take a picture last night.
Is it rooted? If so, how? I’ve found fuzzy kiwis to be quite difficult to root.
Nope, i just got one cutting and made 6.
First time trying. I have them in a greenhouse and making sure it stays a little humid. They are also somewhat shaded in the greenhouse.
