I had what I thought was a nice growing cherry. I know it was going to be a challenge here in VA to grow a sweet cherry tree. I did get about 10 cherries this year. The tree has been in the ground three years but it was probably four ft when I purchased it. It had reached about seven feet this year. It looked very healthy. The top branch extended
well above the cage and it appears a deer broke the branch. I noticed that a number of leaves were browsed on. The deer also broke another branch on this tree. Do you think I should try to salvage the branch or should I cut it off. Thanks.

I would try to save it. I have saved branches using just electrical tape before. If it does not work you can cut it later. Lost an asian pear last week to a deer myself. With a cage around it. I lose money to them every year.
Robert. thanks. I will tape it up and see what happens.
