Nothing is as good as picking tomatoes on November 4th. Typically in Kansas it’s very cold this time of year but this year it’s in the 70’s. All of that sounds good but the part that makes it even better is that I did not plant these tomatoes! Wild tomatoes grow randomly in my area due to the many tomatoes I’ve grown through the years! They are the size of salad tomatoes , a cross of large and small cherry tomatoes. Reaping a bountiful harvest I did not sow! I do wonder how they at times appear 100 yards from where I grew them. I would assume animals transported some of a previous crop. I’ve picked nearly a gallon of wild tomatoes over the last two weeks. We are still picking tomatoes we planted as well !

November 11th and still picking tomatoes! The varmints are getting a few as you will see from the pictures. We had a frost hit the tops on some last night but the wind and my elevated location saved the plants again. It’s cold but these tomatoes have great DNA and keep producing!

Nice! I removed mine two weeks ago and happy about that - I got tired of them. Still have plenty stored fresh in boxes - but nobody at my house expresses any interest in them anymore, and all canning and freezing is done as well. I also do not let volunteers to grow - I rotate my crops and don’t want them to break my schedule.
