I was doing a walk about the orchard doing some late summer clean up pruning of my pear espaliers getting rid of some wild upright growth.
On my MORENTTINNI pear I found that some of the upeight shoots had these little hairlike growths ( see photo below ).
I was wondering if these are precursors for flower buds or more vegetative growth.
Any help appreciated.
