So.. Wasn’t paying attention and all my beds of leeks bolted.. Darn.
Welp, found a recipe for garlic scapes and they are not bad grilled. I didn’t grill them but scorched them in a frying pan in olive oil with a clove of garlic, salt and a little soy. I wouldn’t bother growing them for this but they’re pretty good. They soften up a bit. Dipped in an artichoke sauce of 1/2 melted butter 1/2 mayo, lemon and garlic and they definitely worth eating. Now I don’t feel so bad with a small bale of bolted leeks.
