Lemon thyme - usually deciduous?

I have a lemon thyme which grows great all summer, and by spring, it’s barren except a few remaining leaves. It then comes back, slowly at first, then fill and lush by late May, every year.

Is it normally deciduous in zone 7? My German thyme keeps the vast majority of its leaves.

That sounds like my lemon thyme
For last 3 years it is survived outside in a 6-inch pot looks bad at the end of winter then perks up with flowers…just 2 weeks ago…zone 6b here

same here, I usually cut it back some, this year I’m trying perennialize: variegated lemon thyme and another “citrus” orange thyme too.
