Lime drop: barrier to year round limes

Is there any solution to lime drop in the cold? I bought a Bearrs lime because it was described as having year round fruit, but it would ripen in November and drop all the limes within 2 months.

This year we had a less cold winter, and never had frost damage. The limes did not drop all at once and I actually have 5 months of limes, and counting. I looked it up and sure enough, it is the cold that causes them to drop fruit in December. This stable winter is rare, and will not happen often.

Are there any solutions to this? (that are easy) I did buy a Mexican lime but I think it has the same issue. I am in inland San Diego. Thanks.

I have a bearss lime. Once ripe, it doesn’t hang for long at all. I get harvest about 9 months out of the year, mainly due to the fact that it’s perfectly acceptable to pick limes while they’re still green. It doesn’t seem to have any kind of season to it and my area drops to high 20s every year in January.
