Where have you guys/gals ordered persimmon trees from with good results? No one around me sells them locally.

I bought a IKKJiro from Starks… and a Cardinal from One Green World…

Both were sort of whimpy little trees… IKKJ has grown well… Cardinal is slow gowing.

I got many other persimmons (10 or so) started here… by trading for scionwood and grafting to my own wild persimmon rootstock.

I have Prok, JT02, H118, Mohler, Rich Tooie, Kasandra, Nakitas Gift, H63A, Journey.

JFE has nice size potted trees.

They have very good quality trees. But if you’re in a marginal zone for persimmons, I’d suggest considering other options. Some of the JFE persimmons I’ve ordered have died because their rootstock isn’t hardy enough for colder climates.

I actually ordered mine as a 5 gal from HomeDepot.com, and it was and is still very healthy. Compared to the local nurseries, it was half the price. I think I paid $55 or so and it came with fruit on it… fruit dropped but at least I know it’s old enough to fruit next year. They give 10% off for military also on their plants
