went out this afternoon to check on things and my c.j was literally dead. in 2 days it went from leafing out , full of blooms to everything brown and dead with sap oozing out all over. had this happen with all of my cherries before. blossom end blight never killed a tree but has killed branches. this was despite a copper and 1 immunox spray. usually i just cut off the dead branch and spray again and it was good. i cut her right to the ground and transfered off the property. even the inside wood was dark with bands through it. now im worried about the other 4 cherries nearby. i think ill spray them again sat. rain tom. hopefully it comes back from the roots but im guessing it still will be infected. it wasnt a big loss as the tree was broke in half from the snow 2 winters ago. even the new shoots coming from the roots were dead. never saw a tree of any kind die so quickly.

Steve,
Sorry to hear this. It sounds like bacterial canker. It can be deadly. The link gives good pictures and info. It suggested not to plant another tree in the area.
