Nippon Orangequat is hardy to about 15°F when fully dormant on a mature tree; for colder areas (Zones 4–7) you can grow it in a pot and bring it indoors for winter. It’s listed as best for Zones 8–10.”

The nippon orangequat is huge in comparison with others like sinton citrangequat. These kumquats or hybrids are fast producers.

My nippon I’m planning to use like lemonade. I’m going to grind them up whole. Possibly use them for marmalade etc..

I would work on getting rid of the ants. Fire ants here will also damage the bark.
