Montmorency cherry tarts

Looks amazing. How much work was it to pit all those cherries? I have a little Montmorency tree and I’m wondering if I’ll actually have time to process them once it really starts producing.

So beautiful! That’s all from a container deck tree? How big is the tree with all those cherries?

i find i goes pretty quick to tear the cherries in half and remove the pits, once you get into it. i do it over a large bowl to catch the juice. another way is to cook the whole cherries then put them in a large sieve pushing the pulp through with a wood spoon. thats even quicker.

About six-seven ft. Tall.

About 15 minutes maybe less. Goes quickly. Worth every minute!

Those look delicious! Very inspiring.

I look forward to the day that I harvest enough cherries for a pastry or two. Soon, I hope!
