Montmorency Cherry Tree

Thank you, it does.

Has anyone bought the Monty from Arbor Day? Or have any thoughts on them as a nursery?
I bought a Monty in 2020, 3-4ft tall. It is now 12+ft and still hasn’t bloomed.
I have plums and peaches in the same area that bloom so it should get enough sun. No signs of diseases. I bought a Rainer 2 years ago that was only 3ft and bloomed its first year and I got a few cherries so that’s extra frustrating. It is in the same row as the Monty.

How many years to blooming depends a lot on the rootstock. If your tree is on a standard rootstock, it will take longer. I bought a Montmorency tree on a dwarfing rootstock, and it bloomed the year after planting.

I grafted 5 Monty scions onto my mature Lapins tree and they bloomed and fruited the next year.

We liked the small sample of fruit so much… I planted a Monty tree out in my new orchard.
It did not bloom in year 2…but grew very well.

Hoping it blooms and fruits this next year.

Goog AI overview says expect fruit in year 4 or 5 and first crops may be much lighter than when the tree is more mature.
