Morning Apple Snack

Here’s a handful of a Stayman Winesap. It went in the refrigerator November 22. Still nice and firm. I have Stayman, Evercrisp and Blacktwig in a dedicated 32 degrees fridge in plastic bags.

The Suncrisp apples that went in November 7th were starting to rot in spots last week so the wife and I ate the rest of those up. All these apples were purchased at orchards so no telling how long they had been picked. But I choose the best looking ones with the intent of putting in storage.

We’re still eating refrigerated home-grown Staymans, too. They do really well here in coastal Marin County, as our dry summers help us avoid the common cracking problems caused by excessive rain.
