Of the commonly available yellow/green figs what have you found to be the most cold hardy for zone 7 unprotected (other than heavy mulching)? I have heard LSU gold and Desert king are good choices. I would love to hear from anyone with some experience.

Strawberry Verte a.k.a. Verte a.k.a. Green Ischia has been the clear winner for me. I have seen small plants survive winters at my Zone 6b mountain orchard unprotected. Die-back can occur, but they resprout from the roots.
