I pruned mine a few weeks back… they had reached the ground and were making mowing difficult.
My oh my (in year 2 now) has a small amount of fruit on… and my Isons (also year 2) has more on and larger fruit too.
I removed most of the fruit clusters late spring.
Next year should be my first full crop.

Yes, they sweep the ground and make mowing difficult. I guess probably if the crop is moving towards ripening, a few new little blossoms probably won’t hurt the outcome. I have Lane as well, nearly ripe (I am halfway between Chattanooga and Knoxville), and am currently fighting something for them. Coon, possum, deer, not sure. 4 year vines, first really sizeable crop. Yesterday I wrapped them, vines and all, in shade cloth, to see if the coons or whatever would leave them alone. Last year they got nearly ever single one.

Squirrels also could be the problem although you should be seeing them if that were the case. I know that they get into mine.
